Between Monday’s overall gloom and yesterday’s rain showers, picnics might not be the first thing on your mind today because you’re too busy unpacking prematurely retired winter coats and making soup. However, the weather promises to improve its attitude dramatically starting tomorrow, working up to a toasty 90° on Saturday, so obviously this calls for a picnic party, which we are hosting from 12-4pm at beautiful Brooks Winery.
For your picnicking pleasure, Brooks has curated a two-person picnic basket stuffed with Olympic Provisions salumi, Willamette Valley Creamery cheese, a demi-baguette, Castelvetrano olives, Alma Chocolates, Freddy Guy’s hazelnuts and Bee Local honey along with a signed copy of The Picnic and a few fun Brooks surprises. There will also be horseshoes, cornhole, and badminton, all of which I will play with you for approximately five minutes, because that is my maximum attention span for lawn games, especially when there is Brooks rosé to be drunk.
Marnie and I will be there from noon to 4pm, so come hang out! Picnic baskets are $60 and will be sold at the door, or reserve one ahead of time by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here’s more event info, and Brooks’ address, so that you can find us. Just look for a couple of girls trying to play cornhole with their feet while double fisting glasses of rosé.
