Winner Wednesday: Columbia Gorge Wine & Pear Fest Tickets

Well, hello again Wednesday! In case you missed last week’s pronouncement, Wednesday is now for winners, sort of like how Virginia is for lovers, but without all the heavy petting and with fun prizes. This week is actually for wine and pear lovers, as there are two tickets for next weekend’s Columbia Gorge Wine and Pear Fest up for grabs.

On Sat. May 19, and Sun. May 20, Hood River’s Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM), will fill with Columbia Gorge luminaries like Full Sail Brewing Co., Maryhill Winery, Packer Orchards & Bakery, and Inspired Leaf Tea, along with loads more both food and non-food related. Besides the wine and beer tasting, great eats, live music, shopping and a free peek inside WAAAM, which has one of the largest collections of still-flying antique aeroplanes and still-driving antique automobiles in the country, you’ll also have an excuse to go drive your 1925 Minerva Roadster around the Hood River Valley, which looked like this when I was there last last weekend:

To win two tickets, click here to go to the UTT Facebook page, where all you have to do is name your favorite way to eat a pear, be it just plucked from the tree, sliced into a sweet crumble, or muddled into a Pear Haymaker (yes, please!). I’ll announce the random winner in Friday’s edition of Table Scraps, UTT’s tasty weekly newsletter. (Sign up here if you are still Table Scraps-deprived.)
