1st Annual PDX Lamb Jam

September 27, 2012 — Get ready, lamb lovers. The American Lamb Board is bringing together several top local chefs for the inaugural Portland American Lamb Jam, hosted by chef Adam Sappington of The Country Cat. On Sunday, October 21, from 2–5 pm at Pure Space (1315 Northwest Overton Street), lamb loving chefs will create ewe-nique dishes showcasing a variety of differentlamb cuts as they compete for the ultimate title of Portland Lamb Master and a chance to take on other regional winners at the nationalLamb Jam Finale next fall. Chefs who woo the crowds and win the hearts of attending media judges will take home awards for Best in Show and People’s Choice.  Attendees will also enjoy Oregon wine, Jefferson’s Bourbon and Stumptown Coffee as well as a butchery demonstration by chef Sappington. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Share Our Stength, an organization that fights childhood hunger.
