Australia Day at Pacific Pie Company

kangaandlittlerooTraditionally, January’s kind of a downer, being post-Christmas and pre-Valentine’s Day, post-Winter Break and pre-Spring Break…there’s just not a lot to celebrate about the bleakest, darkest, coldest, dreariest month of the year. Thank goodness for Australia Day! On Wednesday, Jan. 26, Pacific Pie Company will be celebrating this holiday–which commemorates the landing of the first British fleet into Sydney Harbor Cove in 1788, when the flag was hoisted and sovreignty over Oz declared–with pie, beer, and vanilla slice, the staples of any good holiday celebration, really.

Pacific Pie Company will have extended hours (10am to 9pm), beer from 3pm onwards, and they’re supplementing their regular menu of savory pies with Australian favorites like Cornish pasties and beef and potato pie, and traditional Aussie sweet treats like Vanilla Slice, Lamingtons, and Anzac biscuits.

Come help them celebrate! The PPC shop is located at 609 Southeast Ankeny St. More info at www.pacificpieco.com.
