Aviary Restaurant Grand Reopening

Aviary Restaurant also welcomes two new staff members to their team

Portland, Oregon (December 2, 2011) – Aviary Restaurant reopens on December 6th after a Fourth of July rogue firework set fire to their restaurant. Their four-month closure was not a cooking hiatus for Aviary thanks to the generous food community and media in Portland. The Aviary spirit was kept alive due to pop-up dinners and fundraisers with the support of Kurt Huffman and Andy Ricker at Ping, Genoa Restaurant and Firehouse Restaurant.

Aviary is expanding to a full bar that will be open a few weeks after December 6th with an expanded drinks list and new menu. Aviary favorites like oxtail croquettes, fried chicken skin salad, crispy pig ear with coconut rice and tempura pumpkin will remain on the menu joined with seasonal touches like chestnut soup and four cup chicken.

In addition, Aviary has expanded to build a full bar with Ross Hunsinger, formally of clarklewis, Siam Society, Seres as well as McMenamin’s Kennedy School, creating an entire drink menu specifically for Aviary’s cuisine. Also joining the Aviary staff is Christine Schuman as front of the house manager. Christine formerly worked at Andina, Captured By Porches Brewing as well as Red Star Tavern and Roast House.
