Balls and Beers at Hotel deLuxe’s Mini Golf Pop-Up

Balls and Beers, Cans and Cart Food, Pop Tops and Putters:
Portland’s Hotel deLuxe Tees Up the 19th Hole, a Mini Golf Pop-Up, This Summer

July 1, 2015 – PORTLAND, Ore. –On Friday, July 3, the 19th Hole – a mini golf pop-up – is teeing off in Portland at the corner of SW 15th and Yamhill across from Hotel deLuxe. Embracing Portland’s quirky, fun-loving summertime vibe and sunshine-induced obsession with outdoor pursuits, the glamorous boutique hotel has transformed its surface parking lot into a temporary nine-hole miniature golf course and warm-weather eating and drinking destination for the duration of the season.

Tricked out with custom-made picnic tables, inviting greenery, colorful flowers, shade-giving umbrellas and that signature Portland outdoor indicator of great eats and good times – a food cart – the 19th Hole is named after the traditional nickname for the golf course clubhouse where duffers kick back over drinks after playing a round. Hotel deLuxe’s pop-up, open-air clubhouse dials down on the pomp and circumstance associated with golf traditions by pairing putters with pop tops courtesy of a wide-ranging menu of more nearly 30 craft beers, Oregon wines and Pacific Northwest ciders available only in cans.

When hunger strikes, Chef Mark Hosack and his team from Gracie’s at Hotel deLuxe will have 19th Hole denizens covered with a rotating menu of summer-inspired putt putt-friendly foods that will include hot dogs served on a pretzel bun with spicy mustard and sauerkraut, picnic-style cold fried chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, sliders, street tacos and much more. If the canned beverages don’t do the trick, guests can cool off with single-serve ice creams from Portland-favorite, Salt & Straw.

Starting July 3, the 19th Hole will be open Wednesday-Sunday from 3-9 p.m. through summer. Guests of all ages can putter around and those 21 years and over who show a valid ID are welcome to crack a few cold ones. Admission is free. Those who want to golf pay $6 per person, per round, and ballers can buy-out the space for private events by calling 503-219-8626.
