Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration at the MAC

In Oregon, we take our wine celebrations seriously. One of the best examples is Beaujolais Nouveau Day, when Portlanders celebrate the year’s wine harvest better than anyone else! Parties are planned throughout the city allowing folks to let their hair down and celebrate the grapes and the work that went in to the year’s harvest. The Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC) opens up its doors to the public for a preeminent Beaujolais Nouveau Party, beginning at 6 p.m.Folks are encouraged to come for the entire evening or, in true Beaujolais Nouveau Day fashion, stop in in between other Beaujolais Nouveau events.

The Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC) and executive chef Philippe Boulot, along with Jorge Hernandez, Director of Fine Wine Education for Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits have put together an evening befitting of Beaujolais Nouveau Day and the year’s Gamay harvest. You will enjoy casks filled with Duboeuf Nouveau Beaujolais 2013, one of the most well known nouveau from France, and a 24-hour roasted pig provided by MAC member John Duyn of Carlton Farms, along with a variety of other scrumptious food items.
