VANCOUVER, Wash. (April 16, 2014) – Chef/Owner Willem Paul Klitsie of Willem’s on Main (www.willemsonmain.com) in downtown Vancouver announced today that he has created “Dine Around Vancouver” to Support Oso Relief which will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd.  As a resident of and business owner in Washington state, Klitsie is committed to providing much-need financial support for Vancouver’s neighbors to the North who were affected by the Oso landslide.  Klitsie invited the Vancouver restaurant community to join him in his effort and as a result, 10 restaurants are participating in “Dine Around Vancouver.”  Klitsie will donate 15 percent of sales from lunch and dinner served at Willem’s on Main on April 23rd to the American Red Cross.  Specifically designated for the “Oso Landslide,” this percentage of sales on April 23rd from Willem’s and all of the participating restaurants will be donated to the Snohomish Chapter of the American Red Cross.

“As a resident and business owner in Southwest Washington, it’s important to me to do anything we can to help our neighbors and community in the state of Washington who have been affected by this terrible tragedy,” said Klitsie.  “Vancouver is a tight-knit community and Oso is a tight-knit community.  We invite people to dine at our restaurants on ‘Dine Around Vancouver’ day in hopes that we can ease the pain and suffering – even just a little – which the residents of Oso are experiencing.”

Just one day after the one month anniversary of the terrible tragedy in Oso, restaurants in the Vancouver community are committed to supporting relief efforts in the aftermath of this horrific landslide.

“Vancouver’s Downtown Association is honored to support one of our members, Paul Klitsie and Willem’s on Main, in this effort.  Paul’s commitment, and the commitment of the participating restaurants to this incredibly important endeavor to donate funds for Oso relief, is a true testament to our community’s collaboration and dedication,” said Lee Rafferty, Executive Director of Vancouver’s Downtown Association.

On Wednesday, April 23rd, the following Vancouver restaurants will be donating a portion of their sales to the American Red Cross to help survivors of the landslide:
