<p>While you dine with the ones you love this Valentine’s Day, you’re also celebrating all of the community love and support Aviary has received during their comeback. Rising from the ashes of a summer 2011 fire, Aviary Restaurant is back and better than ever, winning a StarChefs Rising Stars Award in December as well as adding a full bar with new cocktail and beverage lists. In classic Portland style, the new bar utilizes reclaimed wood, cabinets, and purple velvet drapes from the church that was once housed in the building. Recently profiled in the 2011 Diner issue of The Oregonian in “Everyday Excellence,” Aviary Restaurant, located in the Alberta Arts district of Northeast Portland, combines traditional and exotic ingredients with unexpected culinary technique. Aviary Restaurant was awarded the 2011 StarChefs Rising Star award as well as Eater’s 2011 Restaurant of the Year nomination.
