Portland Culinary Alliance Welcomes Legendary Storyteller John T. Edge to talk about his new book: The Truck Food Cookbook

thetruckfoodcookbookcoverPortland, Oregon (May 14, 2012) – On Tuesday, May 22, 2012, the Portland Culinary Alliance will host an evening talk and book signing featuring renowned food journalist and storyteller John T. Edge. This will be the chance to listen to, meet, and mingle with the man who has chronicled how America eats.

With a focus on his new book, “The Truck Food Cookbook: 150 Recipes and Ramblings from America’s Best Restaurants on Wheels,” which explores modern American truck and street food through ramblings and recipes, John T. will talk about the mobile food evolution, as well as his travels throughout America in search of authentic, regional foods.

The event takes place at Bunk Bar on Tuesday, May 22 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Arrive early to order the evening special, which we’re calling “The John T. Edge Meal Deal”-Bunk’s Ferdie Special sandwich (a must-try ham and “debris” gravy po’boy) and a beer for $8. In addition, Bunk Bar’s entire food and drinks menu will be available for ordering, and surprise guest food trucks that are featured in the book will be parked outside.

All food and drink items will be sold a la carte (no-host) at this free event, which is open to the public. Books will be available for sale throughout the night, and John T. will be mingling and signing both before and after his talk, which will begin around 6:45pm.
