Latin Fiesta at Beaverton Farmers Market

LATINO FIESTA AT BEAVERTON FARMERS MARKET ON MARKET DAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2012

Music! Medical Advice! Health Snacks! Dance and more

BEAVERTON, OR — August 23, 20012 — Help us celebrate the diversity of Washington County at Beaverton Farmers Market’s Latino Fiesta on September 1st! Enjoy the sounds of Grupo Condor, Portland’s own folk music ensemble that embodies traditional musical styles of all Spanish-speaking America as you learn how to make tamales and pupusas from locally-owned La Vida Veggie. Kaiser Permanente will be on hand to offer some medical advice (in English AND Spanish!) as well as provide some healthy snacking ideas. The City of Beaverton’s Diversity Task Force, the Beaverton Hispanic Resource Center and the Centro Cultural will be available to showcase the contributions of our Latino neighbors to our city’s awesome culture.

Come around mid-day and watch as the kids from Beaverton’s Spanish Immersion Charter School, Arco Iris, perform a Zumba dance and be sure to stop by and see the remarkable creations at the 4-H Latino’s Tech Wizards table. Join us for fun with a feisty flavor at Beaverton Farmers Market’s Latino Fiesta!

We’ll see you at the market!
