Brainy Carnivores Unite

Hey, deep-thinking foodlovers, it’s time for LIVESTOCK–an urban conversation designed to explore the literary and literal aspects of killing your dinner. Join Portland Meat Collective founder/food writer Camas Davis, Country Cat Dinnerhouse Chef Adam Sappington, and Sweet Briar Farms on Wed. 11/4 at 6 pm at the Art Institute’s International Culinary School, for a butchery demo, short story reading, group discussion, and beef tasting. Created in the image of Stumptown’s illustrious Wordstock festival, Livestock seeks to learn you something, to get you thinking and talking about serious food issues, and to put some good food in your belly. Tickets are $25, with nearly half the proceeds going to pro-socially responsible agriculture group Friends of Family Farmers. Call 503.827.6564 to get in on the fun.
